Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. Her roles are All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney, the only child of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four brothers and sisters. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming an official reporter for the court. The first time she began modeling was at the age of 14 and later landed commercial roles when she moved into New York. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Since then, Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. Personally, her professional life hasn't had a happy and successful. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism in the past as well as two failed marriages. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her only son.
